Government Grants & Contracts

Federal funding carries an administrative load that is easy to underestimate, and it does not end when the award lands. We work both ends of it: getting an organization into a position to receive the money, and keeping it compliant once it arrives.

What we do

Getting funded is the easy half

Applying for federal money is a deadline you can plan for. What follows is a standing obligation: registrations that have to stay current, reports that have to be filed on time, and terms that have to be honoured for as long as the award runs.

Most organizations underestimate that second half, and it is usually where the money is quietly lost: to late filings, lapsed registrations, and reporting that outruns the people producing it.

  • Stand up the entity and registrations a venture needs before it can apply for or receive US federal funding
  • Manage SAM.gov registration and the other systems federal agencies require
  • Prepare and submit grant and contract applications
  • Carry the reporting and compliance obligations through the life of an award
Where this fits

Working the funding landscape since 2007

Grant and contract administration has been part of this practice for close to two decades, across a wide range of organizations.

  • NIH, NSF, DARPA, BARDA, and ARPA-H
  • Private foundations and mission-driven funders
  • Research institutes, universities, non-profits, and companies
Who we work with

Organizations that need the funding, not the paperwork

New entities

A structure being created specifically to hold federal funding, which has to be eligible and registered in the right systems before it can apply for anything.

First federal awards

An organization that has won, or is chasing, its first award and has no administration in place to carry the obligations that come with it.

Growing portfolios

Teams holding several awards at once, where reporting and compliance have started to outrun the capacity available to produce them.

You remain focused on advancing the science. We ensure the organization is built to sustain it.

How it fits

Part of a wider operating remit

Grant and contract administration rarely sits on its own. It interacts with hiring plans, capital strategy, regulatory sequencing, and the operational systems a company runs on. That is the same ground a fractional COO or CXO covers.

We can take it as a standalone engagement, or fold it into a wider fractional leadership role so the funding obligations and the company's operations are designed together rather than against each other.
